The NIL era changed everything for young athletes. Suddenly, high school players are navigating exposure, expectations, and brand deals while trying to just be kids who love the game.

Over 6 months and 17 shoot days, I followed Bryce James and his AAU team through this new landscape—watching them forge bonds, learn trust, and figure out what it means to become a team when the whole world is watching.

As a former quarterback, I know what it's like when the principles you learn on the field—resilience, teamwork, knowing when to punt and when to go for it on 4th down—translate into life skills that shape your future. I brought that perspective to every frame.

Through the lens of sports, the series explores fatherhood, legacy, and personal growth. It's about the mentors who shape you and the wisdom passed down through generations.

What I discovered while directing: sometimes you've gotta let the story come to you. Create space for authentic moments to unfold. Having walked in similar shoes, this generation of athletes felt comfortable knowing their story is my story too.
